Explore Mt. Rainier (Mt. Rainier, WA): From elk watching to gondola-riding, Washington State’s tallest mountain offers plenty of winter fun. The Oak Creek Wildlife Refuge provides supplemental winter feeding to more than 1200 Yakima elk from January through February each year. Visitors can view the feeding each day at 1:30 p.m. The Visitor Center also offers educational videos and exhibits. For more wildlife viewing, consider taking the tram ride through the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, where you can see bison, caribous, elk, mountain goats, and deer.
