Take on the change of season and get ready to enjoy all kinds of plain, cold fun with these events around the country that don’t let a little chill stop the good times.

Bonfire on the Snow Snowshoe Tours (Mt. Bachelor, OR): Enjoy a cozy bonfire in an amphitheater made of snow! Follow a guide through a snowy forest and relax in the glow of a bonfire at your destination. Tour includes snowshoes and headlamps, drinks, and a bakery snack. Tours begin in November and run through February. Visit www.wanderlusttours.com for all the details.

The Bend-Sunriver RV Campground is about 22 miles from Mt. Bachelor.

For information, visit www.seattlecenter.com.

Dallas Zoo Lights (Dallas, TX): Over one million twinkling lights illuminate the Zoo and this year’s silk covered lanterns in the shape of zoo animals add to the magic of the lights! The Bay Landing RV Campground is about 75 miles from the Dallas Zoo.

Explore Mt. Rainier (Mt. Rainier, WA): From elk watching to gondola-riding, Washington State’s tallest mountain offers plenty of winter fun. The Oak Creek Wildlife Refuge provides supplemental winter feeding to more than 1200 Yakima elk from January through February each year. Visitors can view the feeding each day at 1:30 p.m. The Visitor Center also offers educational videos and exhibits. For more wildlife viewing, consider taking the tram ride through the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, where you can see bison, caribous, elk, mountain goats, and deer. An exciting way to see the mountain is via the gondola to the Crystal Mountain Summit at Rainer’s Crystal Mountain Resort.

The Paradise RV Campground is less than 50 miles from Mt. Rainier.

Skating by the Sea, Hotel Del Coronado (San Diego, CA): What can be more fun than ice skating within a few feet of the beach? Enjoy ice skating this winter at San Diego’s historic Hotel Del Coronado at their beachfront ice rink, which offers stunning views of the Pacific.

The Pio Pico RV Resort is less than 25 miles from the Hotel Del Coronado.
