Water, water everywhere and so much fun to be had. Stay at the lake with us this summer!

If you’re a family who is divided when it comes to vacation choices – such as a lake vacation or a camping vacation, you’re in luck when it comes to choosing a location for a Thousand Trails vacation, as there are many campgrounds that have onsite lakes to enjoy along with all the camping fun they bring.

Let’s look at some of our lake options:

Hidden Cove (AL): Rusty enjoying the view! - James and Cindy Carter

Hidden Cove RV Campground (Arley, AL) – Enjoy lakefront camping at its best on beautiful Smith Lake, noted for its crystal-clear water. Enjoy fishing (striped bass and catfish), water sports, or just relaxing on the miles of shoreline.

Chestnut Lake RV Campground (Port Republic, NJ) – Why do you think it’s called Chestnut Lake? Come enjoy this NJ campground and relax by the lake, or on the lake. Chestnut Lake is perfect for fishing fun and a relaxing canoe ride around the lake, which is surrounded by towering trees!

Horseshoe Lakes RV Campground (Clinton, IN) – If you can’t get lucky here, you probably are unlucky when it comes to fishing. There are 11, yes 11, lakes here at Horseshoe Lakes for you to try and reel in the big one. Try a different one every day you camp with us!

Lake Conroe RV Campground (Willis, TX) – A stay here puts in prime location to enjoy the 22,000-acre lake complete with a marina and new beach front. The large lake provides plenty of space for paddleboats, jon boats, and all kinds of water activities including fishing, as Lake Conroe is chock full of largemouth bass.

Lake Minden RV Campground (Nicolaus, CA) – A summer schedule full of fish derbies and lakeside fun is on tap when you stay at Lake Minden. Thanks to the 41-acre man-made lake, there is no shortage of fish in this stocked lake. Paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes are other options for you to enjoy the lake, and the campground has rentals for your use.

Lake of the Springs (Oregon House, CA) – Sparkling Lake Mildred is your lake to enjoy here, all 120-acres that are home to bass, catfish, and crappie. The campground has boats for rent, but you are welcome to bring your own and enjoy drifting on the lake while enjoying the surrounding scenery of towering pines, and majestic oaks.

Lake Texoma RV Campground (Gordonville, TX) – Did you know Lake Texoma is the second largest man-make lake in the U.S.? It’s also considered an outstanding fishing like for those searching for the striped bass (crappie, catfish and walleye also swim these waters). Lake Texoma is also great for watersports like boating and water-skiing.

Little Diamond RV Campground (Newport, WA) – There are plenty of ways to enjoy Little Diamond Lake. There’s the option to fish for the Kamloop trout in the 30-acre lake or the choice to take a leisurely walk around the lake on the paved trail. Better yet, do them both every day you camp here!

Orlando RV Resort
Orlando RV Resort

Orlando RV Campground (Clermont, FL) – One of the largest lakes in the county, Hancock Lake, runs up against the campground, so fishing here is a definite option. The campground has rowboats for your use and a convenient fishing dock as well.

Did one of these campgrounds catch your eye? Keep in mind this was just a quick list to lure you in to camping with us this summer. Check out the other Thousand Trails campgrounds that offer the lake lifestyle, and don’t forget there are plenty of other places to camp with us that have ponds, rivers, and streams running right through them! Like we said…water, water everywhere!
