Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival
You know the weather in February, for most parts of the country, ain’t pleasant. So, head on down to St. Petersburg, FL not just for the sun, but for the music!
This year’s Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival takes place from February 17-19. This free music festival is totally family-friendly and draws blues artists from all over Florida and the country. They also offer reserved seating and a VIP upgrade for those interested in spending a little extra to enhance their festival experience.
Be sure to check out JJ Grey & Mofro, a local who now lives on Amelia Island. They are high energy for blues music and have been cited as drawing influences from Marvin Gaye, to AC/DC, to Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Another act Thousand Trails and Encore members may enjoy includes Selwyn Birchwood from the Chicago based label Alligator Records. Birchwood is local to Florida, residing in Tampa. His gritty, deep vocals, lap-steel guitar picking and influences like Muddy Waters and Albert King make this set a must-see. Birchwood also received a Blues Music Award in the “Best New Artist Album” category for Don’t Call No Ambulance.
Also during the festival, be sure to check out the Blues Walk on February 17th, an annual restaurant crawl on Cleveland Street that coincides with the music festival. Restaurants will be offering “Sea-Blues” themed dinner and drink menus and all kinds of music fans will be out to mix and mingle with!
St. Petersburg is located about 25 minutes from the Vacation Village RV Resort (Encore) and about 35 minutes from the Winter Quarters Manatee RV (Encore).
