On The Go: Celebrating the 2016 Summer Olympics at Thousand Trails!

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio are just around the corner. We wanted to you a head start on where to participate in your own Olympic-style games at Thousand Trails. The Olympics start the first weekend of August.

Lake and Shore (NJ) & Sea Pines (NJ), Aug 5-7 – Camp Wars

Whether you’re a Lake & Shore or a Sea Pines camper, August 5-7 is Camp Wars! These two campgrounds will compete against each other in a range of events like, tug-o-war, corn hole, egg races and more.

Lake Texoma (TX) August 23  – Summer Olympics

It’s the second Annual Summer Games at Lake Texoma (TX) on August 23. Bring your skills and can-do attitude for a taste of the Olympics Texoma-style! We will have several competitions planned including coconut shot put, pool noodle games, relays, and much more!

Verde Valley (AZ), August 19-21 – Silly Olympics Weekend

Compete in games of ancient mythology to win the gold, bronze and silver medal. Kids award ceremony to follow at the Pool Lodge Patio with snacks. 

Circle M (PA), August 5-7, Olympics Weekend

Join us as we watch the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Don’t forget your A-game as we will be holding our own Olympics. Compete in your favorite Olympic games for a chance to earn a medal!

Gettysburg Farm (PA), August 5-7, Annual Tractor Show/Barnyard Olympics

Come join our farmer friends and neighbors as they display their tractors and old “hit and miss”engines. There will be lots of demonstrations, tractor hayrides, barnyard games and lots of yummy food. This is one weekend you don’t want to miss.

Scotrun (PA), August 12-14, Scotrun Olympics

Join us for a weekend of wacky games and friendly competition.

Lake Minden (CA), August 5-7, Family Summer Olympic Games with Pom Pom the Clown and RC Boat Races

Lake Minden will kick off our celebration of the 2016 Summer Olympics with an International-Themed Friday Potluck Social. Saturday Primrose Octavia Merryticklefeather (Pom Pom the Clown) will entertain and amaze children of all ages as we kick off our Olympic celebration with a host of challenging and entertaining activities. Watch the radio-controlled Boat Races on Saturday and Sunday.

August 12-14, Family Summer Olympics & Art Exhibit

Test your skills in a variety of Lake Minden Olympic Games. We’ve scheduled competitive games for kids, teens, adults and families to celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics Lake Minden-Style. We’ll also be hosting our 2nd Lake Minden Art Exhibit. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including Best of Show.

August 19-21, Family Summer Olympics

Test your skills in a variety of Lake Minden Olympic Games. We’ve scheduled competitive games for kids, teens, adults and families to celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics Lake Minden-Style. After the games, relax at Moon Light Movie Night under the stars.

Ponderosa (CA) August 13, Salute to the Olympics

We’ll be bringing a little bit of Rio to the Ponderosa as we cheer for Team USA! Kids can compete in games at our pool and at the Family Lodge. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded.

Tranquil Timbers (WI), August 19-21, Back to School Olympics

Let’s give the kids one last weekend to kick back and relax and burn off the summer energy. Friday night join us for an outdoor movie under the pavilion. We will have crafts Saturday morning and then a day full of our first Tranquil Timbers Olympics!
