The town of Leavenworth, WA isn’t just one of those Christmas -obsessed towns… oh wait, actually it is. Every winter, the town of Leavenworth becomes a picturesque Christmas scene filled with lights, snow, carolers, and Santa! Thousands of visitors from all over come to Leavenworth every winter to experience the incredible display of holiday lights and a plethora of fun winter activities. The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth takes place from December 5th – 21st. This festival is famous for literally lighting up the entire town in Christmas lights. It’s an unmatched spectacle one can really only experience in this Christmastown! Leavenworth residents enjoy 300 days of sunshine and experience all 4 seasons, so go in the winter and expect snow, cold temps, and a lot of Christmas cheer.

It’s easy to take a day trip to Leavenworth if you happen to be in Seattle or Portland, or enjoy an entire weekend of Christmas cheer and winter activities as you enjoy a stay at the Leavenworth RV Campground. Fun Fact: Leavenworth was featured as “Christmastown, WA” in the 2012 film, Switchmas, a story about a Christmas obsessed Jewish boy who makes his way to Washington by swapping his airline ticket to Florida with another boy.
