Twice per year thousands of people gather at the Oregon Coast for Whale Watching Week to see over 19,000 majestic gray whales as they migrate north. This spring’s key dates are March 21-28. Volunteers will be on duty at all 24 whale watching locations, helping visitors locate the whales and providing information about their migration from the hours of 10am -1pm. Don’t hesitate to explore some other Oregon Coast attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium in the gorgeous Yaquina Bay in Newport, OR or the Hatfield Marine Science Center at Oregon State University.
If you’ve got a pair of binoculars and a comfortable pair of walking shoes, head out on the Oregon Coast Birding Trail to spot the Coast’s most gorgeous feathered creatures. And, if you can’t go anywhere without checking out the local fairways, Seaside is located just two miles away from the Seaside Golf Course. Less than a mile from South Jetty and also along the Oregon Coast is Sandland Adventures where families can take giant dune buggy tours, ride go karts, and experience the various wildlife of the Siuslaw River.
Join the thousands of whale watchers, bird watchers, and dune explorers this month on the Oregon Coast located near the Pacific City, Seaside, South Jetty, and Whaler’s Rest preserves.
Just following up……How are the upgrades to Washington preserves (mentioned in 2013 member meetings) coming along?
Thanks.
Hello Pete, you can find out how upgrades are coming along by contacting the manager of the campground you are seeking an update on. If you’re not sure who to contact, visit this website: http://www.thousandtrails.com
