Father’s Day fun in definitely part of the June events happening at our preserves this month and you can expect all kinds of activities to honor Dad. Plus, the preserves have more fun cooked up in June including:
The summer solstice is honored the weekend of June 20-21 at California’s Ponderosa (June 21) and Oakzanita (June 21-22) while Pio Pico kicks off summer the same weekend with a Glow Stick Pool Party.
If you like Bingo don’t miss the Bingo Extravaganza set for Florida’s Three Flags the weekend of June 20-22 as they play Candy Bar Bingo, Basket Bingo and more.
Oregon’s Bend Preserve celebrates Pirates of Central Oregon with events all about these patch wearing, plank walking people. The fun is set for June 28-29.
Oregon’s Pacific City heads to the Rodeo June 28 and the fun includes a Chili, Cornbread and Salsa contest.
Getting wet is the theme at several preserves the last weekend of June – Lake Whitney (TX) hosts a pool party, while both Natchez Trace (TN) and Rondout Valley (NY) have plans to get Wet ‘N Wild. Come join in the fun June 27-29.

California
The Summer Solstice Parade, scheduled for June 21, is the largest single-day event in Santa Barbara County, attracting crowds of 100,000 people or more.The parade ends in a beautiful park with vendors and musical groups. Event is held on State Street in Santa Barbara, just 20 miles from the Rancho Oso Preserve. Event hours are noon to dark. Visit http://www.solsticeparade.com for more info.
Oregon
The Siletz Bay Music Festival, scheduled for June 25-July 6, is held near our Pacific City Preserve and features two weeks of classical, jazz and musical theater performances by some of the most talented musicians in the world. For more information visit www.siletzbaymusic.org.
Washington
A family favorite since 1937, Berry Dairy Days, scheduled for June 19-22 this year, features fresh local strawberry shortcake, a spectacular fireworks show, parades, Kiwanis Salmon BBQ, entertainment stage with live music, a nostalgic Berry Cool Car Show and more.
