Massachusetts
Gateway to Cape Cod guests have access to a fishing pond and a dock onsite. The pond is great for canoeing and kayaking too (no gas motors are allowed).
New Jersey
Fishing is a favorite past time at Lake and Shore and the resort features a new fishing dock that was built in the fall of 2012 which has already gotten plenty of use. For the fifth consecutive year, the resort will host Casting for Recovery, an event designed to raise money and awareness for women with breast cancer. The program pairs a woman who is fighting, or has fought, breast cancer with a member of a local anglers club who teaches them to fly fish.
Pennsylvania
Scotrun has a fishing lake that is home to native bass, perch, and bluegills. Each April, the preserve holds an Annual Fishing Derby and stocks the lake with trout, especially for this event. Also, the preserve has a limited number of boats available for lake use.
ON THE CALENDAR
Enjoy a fun-filled family event when visiting Scotrun and take in the Pocono Mt. Bluegrass Festival, June 21-23. This family-oriented festival features music, plus children’s activities and workshops. Rain or shine – covered stage and seating. Event is held at Greene Dreher Sterling Fairgrounds, in Newfoundland, approximately 35 minutes from the preserve. For information call (610) 573-0797.
