Hittin’ the road this summer? We’ve got some great places for you to consider for your summer travels.
On the Beach.
For more than 170 years, Old Orchard Beach has been a favorite for beach-going families thanks to its beautiful 7-mile stretch of perfect sand. This is also a perfect spot for fishing, bird watching, golf and more. Moody Beach RV Resort is the spot to settle in for all the fun of this Maine family favorite. Less than a mile from Ogunquit Beach, this wooded setting offers a Country Store, seasonal activities, outdoor pool and spa and more.
Another perennial favorite is Cape Cod, Massachusetts. From cranberry bogs to sand dunes, from Sandwich, the oldest town on the Cape to eclectic Provincetown, this treasure coast has something for everyone. Gateway to Cape Cod, in Rochester, is the perfect location to stay while you travel up and down the coastline.
Park It.
We all know the big names, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, but the US is full of national parks. Why not make it a point to see some of the lesser known, but just as beautiful, parks in the National Park System.
If you’re staying at Kenisee Lake Preserve, in Jefferson, Ohio, you’re in the prime location to discover Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The national park is a refuge for native plants and wildlife, and provides routes of discovery for visitors. The winding Cuyahoga River gives way to deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. You can choose to walk or ride the Towpath Trail to follow the historic route of the Ohio & Erie Canal.
Encore’s three Maine resorts near Bar Harbor are the perfect home base for exploring Acadia National Park. Climb to the top of Cadillac Mountain and you’re guaranteed some of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever glimpse. Plan a stay at Encore’s Mt. Desert Narrows, Narrows Too or Patten Pond to view the wonders of Acadia.
