Spring break is the theme at many of our preserves as they prepare for one of the most anticipated events of the year. On the local front, this is whale watching season and plenty of our Pacific coast preserves are perfectly situated for a whale watching event, including Pio Pico Preserve in California and Whalers Rest in Oregon. March 23: The Spring Break-a-Thon at Chehalis Preserve, in Washington, begins with lots of fun and activities (mostly indoor!) Also, the preserve’s Happy TTrails horse trails are open for equine enthusiasts (reservations required.)
March 29-31: It’s Easter Weekend at Grandy Creek Preserve in Washington. Hop down the bunny trail for this spectacular weekend. There will be egg dying, crafts, an Easter egg hunt for all the kids, great food, good entertainment and lots more.
March 29-31: Lots of fun is planned for the Easter weekend at California’s Lake of the Springs Preserve, including a Kids’ Fishing Derby, Easter Egg Coloring, Sunrise Service, and Easter Egg Hunt. Kids can meet the Easter Bunny and take pictures.
March 30-31: Hop on over to New York’s Rondout Valley Resort and enjoy Easter Dinner on Saturday. Baked ham and homemade rolls are provided and guests are asked to bring their best Easter dish to complete the celebration. Activities will include the annual Easter Egg Hunt with prizes, egg coloring, jelly bean guessing contest, crafts and games.
