Most resolution lists include something to the effect of getting organized. Well, why not organize your travel schedule so you’re guaranteed a whole year of fun, fun, fun.
Winter Wonderlands
No surprise here, during the months of January and February, people either enjoy the snow or enjoy the sun. If you’re a snowbunny, check out the Shawnee Mountain Ski resort, just 5 miles from the Timothy Lake South preserve which is now an E-Ticket Center for all the snow activities at Shawnee Mountain. And, Timothy Lake now offers rentals. Or consider Encore’s Tahoe Valley RV Resort or TT’s Snowflower Preserve, which are centrally located to the great ski resorts of Lake Tahoe. Encore’s Mt. Hood Village, in Welches, Oregon, is just a short drive from historic Timberline Lodge, the only location in the United States that offers year-round skiing and snowboarding.
On the sunny side, take your pick from more than 20 Encore RV Resorts in Arizona. From the metro Phoenix setting to the rugged landscapes of Yuma, there’s plenty to choose from whatever your dream destination may be.
What offers more sunshine than the Sunshine State? With more than 30 choices you can enjoy Gulf or Atlantic breezes, take in the sights of the Orlando area and visit quaint beach towns on both coasts.
Spring is in the air…
Roads are more easily traveled as the warmer weather rolls in so why not plan a road trip that offers not only scenic vistas but some U.S. history, as well. The Blue Ridge Parkway encompasses 469 miles of roadway passing through Virginia and North Carolina while the Natchez Trace Parkway runs through Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee at a stretch of 444 miles.
Encore’s Scenic RV Resort is not only one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway but is also conveniently located to the historic Biltmore Estate. If you choose to travel the Natchez Trace Parkway, visit the Mississippi Crafts Center, view Civil War battle and burial sites and don’t miss the birthplace of the king, Elvis Presley National Park and Birthplace Center. Thousand Trails preserves nearby include Tennessee’s Cherokee Landing and Natchez Trace and Alabama’s Hidden Cove.
Sun and Sand = Summer
There’s a lot to get done on your summer list which surely includes a visit to the seashore, sampling scrumptious seafood and all kinds of water fun. Visit any one of our Maine locations and enjoy lobstah and the ocean breezes off the Atlantic! Encore offers three Bar Harbor resorts, Mt. Desert Narrows, Narrows Too and Patten Pond, plus TT’s Moody Beach is close to Old Orchard Beach, a long-time summer beach favorite. And don’t forget TT’s Gateway to Cape Cod, in case you didn’t get your fill of lobster in Maine. The Jersey Shore is guaranteed fun with preserves nearby to Cape May, including the Chestnut Lake, Lake and Shore and Sea Pines preserves.
On the Pacific Coast side, you could spend the whole summer traveling north to south or south to north with magnificent views of the ocean all around. California, Oregon and Washington preserves are the definition of summer fun. Horseback ride, beach comb or just enjoy the summer sun.
Autumn Leaves and Haunted Trails
Fall colors and Halloween haunts are on the fall fun list and our preserves offer some of the best Halloween haunts. The Haunted House at Wilderness Lakes (CA) is so popular that the line stretches about 50 yards back from the scene while La Conner’s (WA) haunted house is billed as “the most famous Haunted House in the Northwest.” As for fall’s colors, there’s nothing more beautiful than a heartland autumn – check out changing leaves at our Lancaster, Pa., area preserves.
It’s the Holiday Season
Any preserve you head to will be celebrating the holidays in style with cookie parties, tree trimming events, site decorating contests and visits from the big guy. Don’t miss the lighted splendor of the Bavarian Village in Leavenworth, Washington, which is just a few miles from the Leavenworth Preserve.
