Celebrate Christmas in the Country, November 18-20 during a trip to Natchez Trace. The event is just 25 miles from the preserve and features 105 different booths with items such as antiques, folk art, fried pies, quilts, jewelry, food concessions and Santa Claus. Get a jump on your holiday shopping at the Saturday Christmas Market in at the Port of Ilwaco, less than a mile from the Long Beach Preserve. The event, held November 26, features 16 vendors that will delight your senses and help you find the perfect holiday gifts. For information call (360) 642-3143
Enjoy the lights and the holiday magic at the Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony at San Antonio’s River Walk. Plan a stay at Medina Lake to see the Holiday River parade which is a floating parade of approximately 25 professionally decorated and lighted river barges. This year’s event, scheduled for November 23, marks the 30th anniversary of the parade. This spectacular one-hour parade along San Antonio’s River Walk has featured illuminated floats with celebrities, bands and lavishly-costumed participants. The parade is followed by the lighting ceremony, during which 1.4 million lights are turned on along the River Walk.
