If you’re camping at Cherokee Landing in Middleton, Tennessee, the TVA Nature Loop offers 2 1/2 miles of trails with great views of the Tennessee River. If you’re planning a visit to Natchez Trace, hiking trails can be found at nearby Chickasaw State Park, which has over 4 miles of easy to moderate hiking trails from Fern Creek Trail at just .8 miles to Lakeshore Trails at 1.5 miles.
The Florida Trail Association (FTA) boasts more than 1,400 miles of trails that begin in Big Cypress and end at the Gulf Island National Seashore. The FTA has designated trail areas in these four regions: Panhandle, North, Central and South. Florida’s hiking season begins in late October and runs through early April. Texas’ Lake Whitney State Park, near the Lake Whitney Preserve, offers plenty of hiking trails and is also known as a top bird watching spot.
