NW-Fly A Kite

Just do it. Whether it’s miniature golf, disc golf, horseshoes, or bocce, our preserves offer plenty of reasons to get in the game. The Thunderbird Open is a miniature golf tournament set for August 18-19 at this Washington preserve. Or try your hand at any of the summer weekend events scheduled at Washington’s Leavenworth Preserve including disc golf, kickball, table tennis and volleyball.

Fly a kite. If “flying a kite” heads up your summer list, head to Long Beach, Washington August 20-26 to enjoy the Annual Washington State International Kite Festival. This weeklong event features competitions by both professional and amateurs, mass ascensions (a multi-kite launch) and more. Stay at Long Beach Preserve, less than four miles from the fun. For information call (360) 642-4020.

August is best at Long Beach Preserve because we have the excitement of the Kite Festival. People come from across the US to watch and compete in this event. ~ Katherine Ownbey, Long Beach Manager
