Stay at Long Beach RV & Camping Resort and enjoy the Razor Clam Festival! This festival first launched in 1940 and put the Long Beach peninsula on the map as a premier coastal vacation destination. That year, festival organizers made the World’s Largest Clam Fritter in the World’s Largest Frying Pan, which was sent over from Chehalis, WA. Ladies dressed in clam bathing suits skated across the frying pan on giant pats of butter and the World’s Largest Clam Fritter was fried up!
This year’s festival takes place on Saturday, April 28-Sunday April 29. Though there won’t be another attempt at creating the largest fritter in the world, there will be plenty of clam-related and beachside activities! Visitors can learn how to dig razor clams like a local, take clam cleaning lessons, have a clam chowder taste-off, visit the beer garden for a taste of local craft beer, pick up some cool clamming gear, and so much more. If you plan to go clamming or would like to learn, make sure to get your clamming license before the festival, as festival organizers will not be providing them. Be sure to check the website for all the most important information about the festival!
