In addition to being a great place to camp, our preserves are certainly considered home away from home for staff and guests alike. So it’s no wonder that the campgrounds are also caring communities willing to lend a hand to a cause. Here are some highlights of recent events that bring that concept to light.
Lake Tawakoni has a new Totem Pole that commemorates the heritage of the Tawakoni Indians. The totem pole, which was hand-crafted by a Washington artist, was generously donated by the members.
On September 21, Timothy Lake sponsored their first Annual Cancer Walk. Team TL raised $1455 for the new cancer treatment facility in East Stroudsburg. “We got some great donations from local business,” said Timothy Lake Manager Don Cramer, who said that the importance of the event really hit home as he recently lost his father to cancer.
